Empowered Foods' goal is to create decadent mouth watering
100% raw treats. The diverse product line currently includes
such incredible treats as Wild Jungle Peanut Cups, Chocolate
Goji Bars, Cacao Cashew Bars, and a host of other delicious
treats.
Alex was kind enough to send us a sample package recently
for us to review on our blog.
Over the next week, we will be reviewing our experiences
with each chocolate treat sent to us. We've already tasted
most of this stuff, and, it is unspeakably good...
Taste testing raw treats is such hard work. There is the
tough work of unwrapping jewel colored chocolate presents.
Then there is the hard job of biting into bliss. And the
euphoria afterwards! Phew! This is going to be one delicious
week here at Raw Food, Right Now!
Chocolate Goji Jelly Cups:
It was time to raid the treasure box full of Empowered
Foods! It's starting to get hard to choose what to try next,
but the temptation of goji berries and chocolate was too
much to pass up.
We opened up the two chocolates and unfolded the ruby red
jewel foil. Yet again, the bold flavor of raw cacao filled
the kitchen as I sliced each chocolate cup into bite sized
pieces.
Let's see what we individually thought about our experience:
Justin S.: Yummy yum yum! I've been a big fan of goji berries
since the day I tried them. I was very interested to find
out what, exactly, "goji jelly" would be like.
I have to say, I'm loving these "cups" they have
come up with; perfectly bite-sized and just enough for one
helping.
The goji jelly was amazing, as I anticipated, but what
was really surprising about it, was that something inside
the cups helped enhance the goji berry flavor. It tasted...a
little sweeter and more pronounced than just plain goji
berries.
Very good!!
Heidi: The combination of goji berries and raw chocolate
has never tasted so good. You see, until finding raw cacao
I never was a chocolate girl. (Surprising, I know!) So for
me, all of these Empowered Foods are a way for me to connect
with all the women in the world who adore chocolate. I now
understand. And with the Goji Jelly Cups, they appeal to
my secret sweet tooth. They are sweet, and dark, and rich.
The jelly inside is divine. Oh yeah, I am going to be having
more of these for sure! Yum!
Our Cooked Friends also had the opportunity to taste the
chocolate goji cups. They had never had goji berries before,
so for them this was an educational and enlightening experience.
They thought the cups were delicious. They believed the
filling had an almost strawberry flavor.
However, if they had to choose, they would have the Chocolate
Jungle Peanut Crunch bar instead, if only because it was
a more familiar flavor.
So far, all of the Empowered Foods chocolates have been
a delicious success! We are looking forward to tasting more
of these creative creations!
